Brightpoint Development Fund Receives $300,000 Technical Assistance Grant

Fort Wayne, IN – Brightpoint Development Fund, a subsidiary of Brightpoint, has been awarded a $300,000 Technical Assistance (TA) grant from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund. This funding will enhance the organization’s capacity to foster economic growth and strengthen communities across Indiana by addressing critical financial gaps. As part of the CDFI Fund’s initiative to empower local financial institutions, the grant will enable Brightpoint Development Fund to expand its resources, improve operational capacity, and drive sustainable development efforts that promote economic equity.

“The U.S. Treasury’s investment in Brightpoint underscores the importance of community-led solutions to financial challenges,” said Matt Crouch, Vice President of Community Economic Development. “This funding strengthens our ability to create lasting change by expanding our resources, building organizational capacity, and driving forward initiatives that empower communities to thrive.”

The TA grant will support Brightpoint Development Fund’s efforts to expand its service area to underserved communities, increase access to affordable capital for small businesses, and accelerate the development of affordable housing projects. The funding will also strengthen the organization’s consumer loan program through the Northeast Community Loan Center, enabling more individuals and families to access affordable credit solutions and achieve financial independence.
