Early Head Start
If you are pregnant or have a child younger than 3 years old, we have a program just right for you!
Through Brightpoint’s Early Head Start program, we help children and their parents develop the skills they need to be successful in school – and life! We also form partnerships with families and communities to help families on the path to social and economic growth.
Benefits of Brightpoint’s Early Head Start Program
- Weekly home visits focusing on education and child development to income-eligible families
- Fun, interactive activities designed for parents and children to do together
- “Play Dates”* to socialize children and provide support for parents
- Health and nutrition information
- And much more!
*Play Dates are held outside the home and transportation is not provided. If transportation may be a problem, ask about options available in your area.
How does Early Head Start work?
It’s important to note, that Early Head Start is not a childcare service. Instead, Home Visitors come to the child’s home once a week and lead the child and parent in fun, interactive learning activities based on the child’s needs. These experiences are designed to foster mental, social, emotional, and physical growth through play and age appropriate activities.
Is it necessary for a parent to be involved?
Yes! At Brightpoint, we believe parents are their child’s first teacher. Early Head Start helps parents become leaders and supporters of their children’s learning experiences. We encourage parents to provide input into the activities and to help make important decisions regarding their child’s education.
What if my child is involved in First Steps? Can he or she participate in Early Head Start?
Yes! We make special considerations for children in the First Steps program.
