When you have worked for Brightpoint, worked with Brightpoint, and worked in support of Brightpoint, you are a true Brightpoint partner.
“It was 2009 and Brightpoint was adding to their weatherization team,” shares longtime Brightpoint partner Dale Hubert. “I completed training and worked as an energy auditor until about 2011.”
Dale shares that a Brightpoint weatherization energy auditor comes into a home to conduct testing to identify areas where heating and cooling may be escaping the home. The Brightpoint weatherization program provides solutions for homes experiencing air leaks, often adding insulation, and repairing or replacing heating and cooling equipment.
“After working for Brightpoint for a couple of years I worked a short time for another Indiana energy assistance provider but soon found myself with the opportunity to go to work for the oldest heating and cooling business in Fort Wayne: Doc Dancer,” says Dale. “I knew of the company and its five-star reputation because we had partnered with them when I worked for Brightpoint.”
He joined the Doc Dancer team in 2014 and became a co-owner of the company in 2021. Dale says that Brightpoint and Doc Dancer have been working together for over 20 plus years to assist those in need of heating, cooling, and weatherization solutions. The company’s commitment to assist Brightpoint families and individuals has remained the same under his ownership.
“I know from my time working for Brightpoint that offering a home energy audit and energy-efficient repairs are just one piece of the support Brightpoint offers,” says Dale. “They take the time to share educational tips for homeowners and renters on how to care for and maintain a home to keep it safe, including moisture and mold prevention, and how to protect from and prevent lead poisoning.”
Doc Dancer’s commitment to Brightpoint’s success continues beyond their energy and weatherization partnership. They are strong vocal and donor supporters within the community and are often a major sponsor of Brightpoint’s annual golf outing.
“When we are providing services as a Brightpoint partner out in the community, Doc Dancer takes pride in each and every service we provide,” says Dale. “We treat all our clients the same and just like we treat our employees – they become family.”
For Dale, being a part of helping others is something he and his company are both invested in every day. He hopes other community businesses will become Brightpoint partners and supporters, too.
“A substantial part of our business comes from the collaborative partnership with Brightpoint to provide energy assistance solutions for income-qualified renters and homeowners,” Dale shares. “For Doc Dancer, contributing in a way that helps our communities stay safe and thrive is a priority, and a rewarding way to give back.”
