The Brightpoint Development Fund Receives CDFI Technical Assistance Award

Fort Wayne, IN – The Brightpoint Development Fund (BDF) has received a grant in the amount of $125,000 from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund.)

In a notice released Monday, the CDFI Fund announced that 218 organizations, including BDF, received $27.57 million in Technical Assistance awards to build their capacity to provide services to low-income and underserved people and communities across America. The Brightpoint Development Fund was one of only two organizations in Indiana to receive funding in this round.

“With this award, the Brightpoint Development Fund can continue to deliver responsible and affordable lending opportunities for individuals and small-businesses in northeast Indiana,” says Matt Crouch, Vice President of Community Economic Development for Brightpoint.

Founded in 2010, BDF (a subsidiary of Brightpoint) is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable business loans, financial education, and housing development services. It is a U.S. Department of the Treasury Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI.)
