Brightpoint to Administer Head Start Sites in Adams and Huntington Counties

Fort Wayne, IN – Brightpoint has been awarded a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services to administer Head Start services in Adams and Huntington Counties, previously operated by Community Development Institute (CDI). The award will fund two classrooms in each county, serving a total enrollment of 60 preschool children ages 3 to 5.

“We’re excited to start providing services to more children and families in our community,” says Mary Lee Freeze, Brightpoint VP of Early Childhood Services.

Head Start provides comprehensive educational, health, nutritional, and other developmental social services for low-income and special needs preschool children and their families. Through the Head Start program, children develop the skills they need to be successful in school and life. Brightpoint currently operates Head Start in Allen, DeKalb, Noble, and Whitley Counties.

“The Indiana Head Start Association is thrilled to learn that Brightpoint– the only Head Start Preschool Program of Excellence in the State of Indiana– is adding two new service areas in which they’ll operate Head Start preschool program locations,” says Rhett Cecil, Executive Director of the Indiana Head Start Association. “We’re pleased to see Brightpoint bring their amazing people and unparalleled Head Start experience to Adams and Huntington Counties to provide high quality early childhood education to the families and children there.”

Brightpoint will begin providing Head Start services in Adams and Huntington Counties on November 1, 2024.
