Brightpoint Awarded Grant for Our HEALing Kitchen Classes

Fort Wayne, IN – Brightpoint has been awarded a $4,500 grant to conduct Our HEALing Kitchen classes for the fourth year in a row. Our HEALing Kitchen is a “garden-to-kitchen” curriculum that provides knowledge and skill building to increase fruit and vegetable selection, preparation and consumption. This curriculum places emphasis on locally grown food and the benefits of eating a diet that is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables and low in saturated fats, sugars and processed foods. This program is partially supported by a grant from the HEAL Initiative, which is cosponsored by Parkview Health and St. Joseph Community Health Foundation.

This year Brightpoint is offering the classes at six (6) locations throughout Fort Wayne to its clients. One location, Hopewell Pointe, is open to the public. All courses begin the week of June 17, 2019 and run for 8 weeks. Those interested in signing up for the courses must reserve their spot by contacting Brightpoint at 260-423-3546 ext. 269 or emailing monicawoods@mybrightpoint.org.
