Brightpoint Head Start Recognized by National Head Start Association
Fort Wayne, IN – Last week, Brightpoint’s Head Start program was designated as a 2023 Program of Excellence by the National Head Start Association, along with 10 other Head Start grant recipients.
The Program of Excellence recognizes and supports the outstanding performance of Head Start grant recipients nationwide who demonstrate excellence in program management and service and support robust positive outcomes for children birth-to-five, pregnant people, families, and the communities where they live.
“It’s fantastic that the National Head Start Association has put a program in place to recognize outstanding quality efforts,” says Mary Lee Freeze, Vice President of Early Childhood Services for Brightpoint. “Yes, it was a lot of work to submit our application, but as I shared with the staff, the management team and I just wrote down what our staff does every day!”
Head Start provides comprehensive educational, health, nutritional, and other developmental social services both in home and at designated centers. Brightpoint Head Start serves low-income and special needs children and their families from pregnancy to age 5 in Allen, DeKalb, Noble, and Whitley counties.
