Brightpoint Receives Funding from Lilly Endowment for Youth Program

Fort Wayne, IN – Brightpoint has received a $72,000 grant through the Youth Program Resilience Fund of Lilly Endowment Inc.

Brightpoint will use the grant to support the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) youth program. With this support, Brightpoint will be able to continue ensuring that young people stay in school through graduation and help guide them into post-secondary education or employment. Through JAG, juniors and seniors in high school participate in a school-to-career program and one year of follow-up counseling after graduation. Brightpoint’s JAG program currently serves 560 students in 13 area high schools. Northeast Indiana Works, the region’s nonprofit workforce investment board, provides oversight and funding for Brightpoint’s JAG program.

This grant to Brightpoint is one of 297 that Lilly Endowment has made through the Youth Program Resilience Fund to help youth-serving organizations across Indiana adapt their work to challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Grants from this fund are part of more than $170 million in grants Lilly Endowment has made to help organizations serve individuals and communities amid the pandemic.
